Hello, my name is (state your name), and I am a sexual abuse survivor.

Welcome to the regular meeting of the Silver Braid Survivors of Sexual Exploitation Network. This is a closed meeting for those personally dealing with sexual abuse issues. The only requirement is a desire to heal from the aftereffects of sexual abuse.”

To protect our anonymity, what you hear here, must stay here. We will now go around the room, introducing ourselves, and identifying as sexual abuse survivors.

May I ask someone to read: The 12 steps of Survivors of Sexual Exploitation

Would someone like to read: Why Recovery?

Would someone read: Who is a Sexual Exploitation Survivor and How do we begin to Heal?

Please read: The Silver Braid

Sexual exploitation includes (but is in no way limited to) incest, molestation, ritual abuse, rape, domestic violence, prostitution, and sexual harassment. Some of you may only have experienced one form of exploitation, but for many of us, our group sharing will perhaps uncover a lifetime pattern where we found ourselves locked into many abusive sexual patterns.

LEADER: Qualify for up to ten minutes. You may wish to talk about how sexual exploitation is affecting your life today. You may talk about when the it started, and how it led you towards either acting out or perhaps avoiding sexuality completely.

Selecting a Meeting Topic

You may refer to our literature to select topics. Use the following:

>
Aftereffects of the Sexual Exploitation Checklist
>
Aftereffects Specifically related to Sex, Love and Codependency
>
The Silver Braid

LEADER: Read the next paragraph on: Creating A Safe Environment

Creating A Safe Environment

Many of have experienced, both during our childhoods and our current lives, environments that were toxic. Perhaps our boundaries were violated on many levels. And that is why, as sexual exploitation survivors who are “In Recovery,” we need to create a safe environment for our members. Therefore there is no crosstalk. We do not give another member advice, or critique their sharing.

Ending the Meeting
Five minutes before the end:

State: There are no dues or fees, but we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

READ: “Closing Affirmation: Sexual Bill of Rights.”

LEADER: Together, we are well on our way. Together, we take the hand of another survivor and together we touch the world.

I’ve asked: (Select Someone) To end the meeting with the Serenity Prayer.

We encourage anyone interested in starting a meeting in your area, to please contact us at our Toll Free Number and a complete Silver Braid Survivors Exploitation Network packet will be forwarded to you.
